Move-out cleaning in Vaughan, once the last load is gone

We clean empty houses, townhouses, condos and apartments across Vaughan after the last load leaves. This page also sorts out what has to go first, by the City's own rules.

What gets cleaned once the rooms are empty

A move-out clean follows the list on our move-in and move-out page. It covers the same ground as a deep clean, with no furniture in the way. We're based in Vaughan, and we clean houses, townhouses, condos and apartments in Woodbridge, Maple, Concord, Kleinburg, Thornhill and the rest of the city.

  • All surfaces, ledges and corners
  • Doors and door panels
  • Oven, stovetop and range hood
  • Toilet, sink and bathroom tiles
  • Carpets and floors vacuumed

If the fridge stays with the home, ask for it when you book. The photo is the bottom of a fridge on one of our jobs, emptied and wiped. Our kitchen deep cleaning page shows the rest of that room.

Three ways out for what you're leaving behind

An empty-home clean needs an empty home. In Vaughan, whatever doesn't go on the truck with you leaves by one of three routes the City sets out, and each one runs on its own day.

At the curb, on your garbage day

  • Mattresses
  • Chairs
  • Tables
  • Toilets
  • Each piece counts as one item toward the three-item garbage limit.
  • Up to 68 kg (150 lb) a piece, and kept dry.
  • Out by 7 a.m. The crew does not come back for things set out late.
  • A two-piece toilet goes out taken apart.
City of Vaughan: large and bulky items

By appointment, on a Thursday

  • Fridges
  • Dishwashers
  • Humidifiers
  • Other large metal items
  • Picked up by appointment only, and there is a fee.
  • You book and pay through Service Vaughan, the City's own help line.
  • Book it early in the move, since it only runs on Thursdays.
City of Vaughan: metal items and appliances

Through your building's manager

  • Condo buildings
  • Apartment buildings
  • The property manager books the pickup online for every resident.
  • The City won't take the request by phone from a resident, tenant or owner.
  • Pickups come once every two weeks, for approved items, with no fee.
  • The same 68 kg limit applies.
City of Vaughan: multi-residential bulky items

Book the clean for a day when everything is out of the rooms, including what's waiting for a pickup. A sofa that stands in the living room until Thursday covers the floor we're there to vacuum.

A house or a condo: what changes for the move-out

The cleaning list is the same in both. Who you call, and what we need to know to get in, is different.

Questions people ask before a Vaughan move-out

Do you clean move-outs in Maple, Kleinburg and Concord?

Yes. We're based in Vaughan and clean in every part of it, Woodbridge and Thornhill included. Our Woodbridge house cleaning page has the City's street parking rule for a visit.

I'm a tenant. How clean does the unit have to be when I leave?

Ontario's rules for tenants are in our article on how clean a tenant must leave a rental. A move-out clean covers the list on this page, so the unit goes back cleaned from top to bottom.

Can you also clean the new place if it's outside Vaughan?

Yes. We work up to about 50 km from Vaughan, across Toronto and the GTA, so the move-in clean at the new address can go in the same message. Give us both addresses and both dates.

Can the clean happen the evening before the handover?

Yes. We take bookings at any hour, every day of the week. Tell us the handover time when you book, and the clean is planned before it.
