Bathroom deep cleaning: tiles, grout, fixtures and the fan
The bathroom is where a quick wipe stops working: grout darkens and a white crust grows around the faucet. This page shows what we clean in a bathroom and what helps before we arrive.

What we clean in a bathroom
These are the spots our photos and videos from bathroom jobs show. A regular visit covers the toilet, the sink and the tiles; a deep clean is when we spend the time on build-up as well.
- Toilet bowl, lid and seat
- The base of the toilet and the floor around it
- Sink, drain and faucet
- Limescale around the faucet
- Shower wall tiles and fittings
- Shower floor grout, scrubbed with a brush
- Bathroom floor tiles
- The ceiling fan cover
Why the white crust keeps coming back in Vaughan
Hard water carries dissolved calcium and magnesium. The City of Vaughan's water quality page gives the figure on the left and says hard water is not a health concern but may leave scale deposits on toilets and appliances. That deposit is what makes a faucet look dull a week after it was wiped.
- Around the faucet
- The crust builds where the faucet meets the sink. Our before and after photos show one we cleaned off.
- Inside the toilet
- Marks in the bowl and spots on the lid are cleaned as part of every bathroom.
- Shower fittings
- The handle and the spout are cleaned together with the tiles around them.
The base of the toilet, where dust and hair collect
A quick clean wipes the seat and the bowl. The curved base and the floor next to it are what people notice when they kneel down to look.

Before the visit: your part and ours
What helps if you do it
- Take bottles, razors and toys off the tub edge and the shower ledge, so we clean the surface and not around it.
- Clear the counter of anything you'd rather we didn't move.
- Tell us if a counter or floor is natural stone, or if a fixture is new.
- Mention the bathroom that bothers you most when you ask for a quote.
What we do on the day
- Toilet inside and out, down to the base and the floor tiles around it.
- Sink, drain and faucet, with the crust taken off the base of the faucet.
- Shower tiles and fittings, and the grout lines of the floor by brush.
- The ceiling fan cover, which is easy to forget because nobody looks up.

Fresh air while a bathroom is cleaned
A bathroom is small and often has no window, so the fan matters. Health Canada asks people to vent the home while they use cleaning products, by opening windows or doors and running exhaust fans.
The same Health Canada advisory warns never to mix bleach with any other cleaner. Bleach reacts with products that contain ammonia, such as glass cleaner, or an acid, such as vinegar, and the gas it gives off is toxic. If you have bleach in the bathroom, leave it in the cabinet; we bring our own eco-friendly products.
What people ask about cleaning bathrooms
Is the bathroom part of a regular clean?
Yes. Our regular home cleaning includes the toilet, the sink and the bathroom tiles. Book a deep clean when the grout has darkened, there's a crust on the faucet or nobody has cleaned the bathroom properly for a while.
We have three bathrooms. How do I get a quote?
Tell us the number of bedrooms and bathrooms through the quote form, or text a few photos to (647) 507-8440. A photo of the shower floor and the faucets tells us the most.
Can I see how you clean grout?
On our before and after page there's a short video of a shower floor scrubbed line by line with a brush, and another of a bathroom from toilet to sink.
Do you clean the bathroom when we move out?
Yes, the bathroom is part of every move-in and move-out clean, and in an empty home the base of the toilet and the corners of the floor are easy to reach.
Tell us how many bathrooms you have
A few photos by text help us see the grout and the fixtures before we quote.
